Our very own Darren Bowman is set to play in Octobers PGA National Futures Event and we would like to take this opportunity to wish him well in his preparations.
Darren is in his 2nd year of his traineeship and goes into the event in the top 15 of the Victorian Order of Merit. In preparation Darren will stay close to BGC for the next few weeks getting in as many rounds as possible to give himself the best shot at doing well at his home club event. When asked about the event Darren says he is proud of BGC hosting such a prestigious event as Futures- being the biggest prize pool of any trainee event in the world.
Darren also feels a level of pressure riding on his shoulders with some expectation on how he should perform being his home track. The $60,000 prize pool and the opportunity for the winning trainee to play in the Australian PGA Championship are great incentives to play well but for Darren the excitement of trying to win a home club event is what he will be focusing on.
Good luck Darren you have our support all the way!
