Ballarat Golf Clubs Apprentice Greenskeeper, Will Koopmans received the Victorian Golf Course Superintendents Association Apprentice of the year award at the Yarra Yarra golf club meeting.
President of the VGCSA Jeremy Cutijar stated the standard of applicants were the highest they had seen in 9 years.
William received his award along with $250.00 towards educational material and $1000.00 towards attending the 32nd Australian Turfgrass Conference being held at Melbourne in June.
William is now in the running for the National Apprentice of the Year up against other state finalists where he will be interviewed and needs to present a presentation to a panel of judges.
Will is now focusing on the Diploma in Turf Management course.
